The Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) is a government agency conducting world-leading research in defence and security to support Sweden's military and civil defence. The research spans several areas, including underwater, cyber defence, space, electronic warfare, sensor systems, civil defence, CBRNe (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive substances), military platforms including weapons and protection, as well as security policy analysis. FOI's research plays a key role in building Sweden's defence capability.

About the Position

Working at FOI during a time when the agency is developing and growing is an important mission, contributing to societal benefit and total defence, and an inspiring opportunity. We are now expanding managerial support in Stockholm and are looking for an engaged HR Generalist who wants to contribute to our HR team!

As an HR Generalist at FOI, your main task is to provide expert and professional HR support primarily at the operational level. You will provide consultative and business-oriented support to one of FOI's research departments in Stockholm from an employer perspective. You will work with all HR-related issues, including leadership, competence supply, work environment, labour law, and salary formation. In addition to the business-oriented managerial support, you will, together with colleagues, work on development and plan and implement training initiatives as needed. You will belong to our HR Generalist team consisting of twelve engaged colleagues and work closely with other HR Generalists. You are expected to collaborate, support each other, and exchange experiences.

The position is located in Kista. You report to the HR manager.

About the Unit

You will be part of the HR unit, which belongs to the Research Support department. The HR unit consists of approximately 45 people with expertise in HR, recruitment, training, salary, and travel.

Do you have the competence profile we need?

Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree at least at the bachelor's level in HR or another education combined with work experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • Current and relevant work experience providing broad and qualified HR support to managers in a larger organization
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing
  • Good knowledge of labour law and applicable agreements within the public sector
  • Good data and system knowledge

Since the primary task of the HR Generalist is to provide qualified business-oriented HR support, we see that you have a good ability to establish and maintain relationships based on trust and confidence. As a person, you are stable and secure in your professional role. Since the work involves many points of contact both within HR and in the rest of the organization, we see that you have very good collaboration skills. You have the ability to handle several ongoing processes simultaneously, are structured, and can prioritize. To succeed in the role, you are self-driven, proactive, and push your work forward. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Meritorious

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience in HR work within government operations
  • Experience in independently driving assignments within operational and strategic HR work
  • In-depth knowledge in one or more areas such as administration, work environment, labour law
